We are currently recruiting a Vehicle Body & Paint Technician due to expansion of the business

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Body & Paint Technician (painter) to join the John Roe team that is currently expanding within the Toyota Franchise, based at our site in Scunthorpe. We have manufacturer supported programme and facilities in place and dedicated paint booths, we would be happy to show any potential candidates around

Another very important aspect of the job is teamwork as you will be working as a team in the Smart centre as well as across other functional areas. Your aim: ensuring we get their vehicle back on the road safely and in quick time.

You will report into the Group Body & Paint Manager who is as passionate about customer service as they are about their team and is absolutely determined to make their Smart Centre the best in the Toyota Franchise. There is a family feel and buzz where everyone helps each other to achieve the goals of the site and to ensure our customers are consistently delighted with the service we provide. It’s an amazing team!

Key to your success is your ability to produce work that complies with the highest technical and quality standards and, above all, helps us deliver on our service commitment to customers.

About you

  • Ideally you have some NVQ qualification Prepper/Paint Technician with a solid Bodyshop background – whether the job at hand is routine or more complex, you will know just how to solve it.
  • You come from a fast-paced background – you know how to work in a standard job time structure with a focus on producing compliant, high-quality work.
  • You can do more than one thing at once – you can be sure you will never be looking for something to do, so being able to prioritise and plan your work is key.
  • You will need to have a full UK/EU Driving Licence
  • You get involved in every part of our business – you take pride being part of the John Roe Group team and are keen to help colleagues with a hands-on, can-do approach to getting things done.
  • You take pride in providing a great customer experience each day - you understand what is important to your customers and suppliers.

John Roe Group Ltd have an exciting opportunity for full time MOT Vehicle Technicians to join their team based at their Toyota site.

Are you an enthusiastic, motivated person with experience from either a main dealer or an independent garage then we would love to hear from you!

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have NVQ LV3 or equivalent qualification in motor vehicle engineering
  • Have minimum 12months experience within a workshop as a technician
  • Have a Full UK driving license
  • Be MOT qualified

The right candidate will have a flexible, can do approach to all areas of work, and in return for your hard work & commitment, we can offer competitive rates of pay, individual efficiency based monthly bonus and upsell commission & company pension. Your progression on our brand training platform means you can progress quickly in our Technician Training Programme whilst ensuring you maintain high standards.

This is a 40 hour per week position working Monday- Friday, rota Saturday mornings 1 in 2

Summary of Purpose

Carries out all workshop work in an efficient and safe manner, to meet customer requirements and maximise workshop utilisation and productivity

Main responsibilities and duties

· Carries out vehicle services and repairs

· Works as part of the workshop team to carry out scheduled vehicle service and repair work, in accordance with TGB standards

· Examines vehicles and diagnoses non-routine defects, either in the workshop or during a road test, using a knowledge of the vehicles and technologies concerned

· Examines vehicles and reports defects against Department of Environment (MOT) and Vehicle Safety Report (VSR) standards

· Carries out each job within the budgeted time as set out in the Toyota Flat Rate Manuals – to maintain own labour productivity

· Works in accordance with workshop and Centre Health & Safety requirements

· Works with colleagues to maintain workshop standards of cleanliness and tidiness

· Takes personal responsibility for the daily maintenance of workshop equipment, and reports equipment defects or problems that need attention
